Arco Norte ports share of grain exports more than doubles in 10 years

Arco Norte ports’ participation in total soy and corn exports has more than doubled in 10 years, from 14.4% to 33.4%.

The port of Santarém, in Pará, was one of the busiest in the region, and the freight price helps explain this increase.

“In recent years, we believe that exports via Arco Norte increased by around 50%. […] We noticed a difference of around R$ 60 a ton more expensive to export via Arco Sul”, says Hito Braga, deputy director of the UFPA Institute of Technology.
