The CODESA privatization public hearing was postponed by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) to July 6th. The online event will start at 9 am. The information is on the BNDES’ official website.
The purpose of the 02/2021 hearing “is to provide information to the public and receive suggestions and contributions concerning the said privatization process, whose modality will be the sale of all shares owned by the federal government and issued by CODESA and, subsequently, the signing of a concession contract between the federal government and CODESA to develop the public ports of Vitória and Barra do Riacho”.
Private Landlord Privatization Model
Earlier this year, a public hearing on privatization was held by the National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) in February. On June 9, the Investment Partnership Program Council (CPPI) published Resolution 188, approving CODESA’s private landlord privatization model. The resolution was signed by the Ministers of Finance and Infrastructure, Paulo Guedes and Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, respectively.
The company’s auction notice is scheduled to be published in October this year, after receiving the improvements and adjustments that will be appointed by the federal audit court (TCU).
