Private investment in federal infrastructure concessions reached R$9.2 billion in 2020, an increase of 11.2% compared to 2019. The number is one of the highlights of the 5th edition of the Statistical Yearbook of Transport, published by the Ministry of Infrastructure in partnership with EPL (the planning and logistics company).
The publication provides consolidated information on modes of transport to the public and private sectors and presents data on cargo transport, passenger transport, and the country’s logistics infrastructure from 2010 to 2020.
Divided into eight chapters, the yearbook provides economic indices and data on the main production chains in the country and the quantitative infrastructure of all types of public and private investments in the transport, cargo and passenger handling, traffic accidents, and the environmental sector.
This year, the document also provides a series of analytical panels that were prepared by ONTL (the national transport and logistics observatory). The tool allows the interactive presentation of information. The different modes of transport over the years can be followed through comparative graphs, maps, and tables available in the material.
The material also shows the impact that the sanitary crisis caused by the coronavirus has had on the movement of passengers in recent years, as well as in the decade from 2010 to 2020. The data expands society’s knowledge of transport sector activities and enables research, more comprehensive studies, and analyses to be carried out.
The objective is that the yearbook can support public and private institutions in the formulation of public policies, in decision-making, in transport planning, and in scenario assessments.
