Egg exports more than doubled in the first half

Brazilian egg exports grew 145.1% in the first half of 2021, totaling 5,600 tons, according to ABPA (the Brazilian association of animal protein).
In the same period last year, the country shipped 2,300 tons. Revenue grew 152.9%, going from US$ 3.2 million to US$ 8 million.
The organization’s president, Ricardo Santin, attributed the rise in exports to the producer’s need to ensure profitability amid rising production costs. “These are destinations with high added value, which are reflected in better performance in average price and more profitability, to facilitate the bill in view of the historical highs of corn and soybean bran,” he said in a statement.
According to data compiled by ABPA, in June, the advance was even greater: 544 tons were exported, an increase of 162.2%, which yielded US$ 1.016 million, an increase of 172.5%.
