CMA-CGM suffers another cyber attack
Sep, 20, 2021 Posted by Neeharika KhaitanWeek 202137
CMA CGM reported that it detected a customer data breach after a new cyber attack. The company explained that the leaked data corresponded to first and last name, employer, position, email address and telephone number of some customers.
However, CMA CGM made it clear that “our IT teams developed and installed security devices immediately” and that “there was no operational impact on the Group’s activities”.
Faced with this situation, the carrier released a series of tips to avoid being a victim of data leakage. Among them, it is worth noting that you do not share your account password or any personal information. CMA CGM will never ask for them.
Added to this is the verification of the “authenticity of an email requesting login to our platforms (especially if you are asked to reset your password), even if it appears to have been sent by the CMA CGM Group.”
This cyberattack adds to the one registered by the CMA CGM in September of last year and which affected its servers.
