This Thursday (10), the Ceará government will inaugurate the second expansion of the Port of Pecém. The port terminal will receive a new access gate (Gate 2), a bridge to the piers (Bridge 2), and a berth (mooring berth 10).

The works cost approximately R$ 772.8 million. The investment increases the operational capacity of the Ceará terminal, which is part of the Pecém Complex (CIPP S/A) – a joint venture formed by the Ceará government and the Port of Rotterdam. For the first time in its history, the Port of Pecém exceeded the mark of 22 million tons handled in 2021.

See below the cargo handling figures for the Port of Pecém considering exports and imports in 2021. The data are from DataLiner.
