Wilson Sons believes in the growth of the liquid bulk market in Brazil’s North and Northeast

Wilson Sons was the company responsible for maritime agency service for the tanker Horizon Theoni, chartered by the fuel distributor Atem to unload diesel in the ports of Manus and Itaqui on March 29 and 30.

Companies in this industry predict that the volume of liquid bulk shipments in the region will increase in the following months, primarily at the Itaqui terminal, which has set records in the last four years.

Wilson Sons Maritime Agency was responsible for the cargo documentation and coordinating information between the agents participating in the operation mentioned above: crew, shipowner, charterer, terminal, and port operator.

“Our main challenge was to guarantee was to secure an operational window in the liquid berths since the line up was very busy with direct transshipment operations, in which it was necessary to docks two ships at the same time,” comments André Nogueira, coordinator of agency operations in São Luís.

The Maritime Agency also made it possible to supply the tanker in operation while diesel was being unloaded in the Port of Itaqui.

“This was critical for the vessel to continue its journey without delay,” André explains. He emphasizes that liquid bulk vessels generally call at more than one port on the Brazilian coast, making Wilson Sons a vital partner due to its presence in 19 national ports with its own offices.
