
Paraguay’s imports grow 27.2% in the first four months of 2022

In the first four months of 2022, Paraguay‘s imports equaled US$4,795 million, 27.2% more than in the same period in 2021. if “imports (FOB)” and “other imports” are considered, the total amount of goods that entered the country increased by around 24.9 % in the annual comparison, according to the Avance Ejecutivo del Reporte de Comercio Exterior (RCE).
More specifically, fuels and cellphone devices showed the highest growth, 29.1%, and 28.2%, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Finance of Paraguay, the leading supplier of imports made by Paraguay was China, which accounted for 33% of the imports.
Other relevant partners were Brazil (21.8%), Argentina (8.5%), the United States (6.6%), and India (2.9%).
