Four new functionalities now compose “Porto sem Papel,” a port modernization program developed by the Brazilian Secretariat of Ports. The first of these novelties is the adaptation of the program to provide the exemption of tariffs like the so-called Free Practice Certificate, an initiative aligned with the BR do Mar legislation.

The measure allows vessels involved in cabotage activities, port and maritime support operations, and inland and river navigation to sail with less mooring time.

Another novelty is the alteration in vessel inspection by the Brazilian Navy. The initiative answers a long demand of the port community, integrating it into the modernization project itself.

Furthermore, “Porto sem Papel” is now incorporated into the Federal Police’s National System of Wanted and Restricted Persons (Sinpi) and International Traffic System (STI), boosting maritime security processes. Finally, Porto sem Papel updated the orientation of the service letter to the user to facilitate and extend the population’s access to the services offered.
