Tax authorities seize cocaine shipment bound for Spain at the Port of Paranagua

On Monday, October 24, Federal Revenue officials seized 124 kg of cocaine in the Port of Paranagua. The cargo was hidden inside a container that contained chemical wood pulp.
The drug, which was destined for the Port of Valencia in Spain, was distributed in four bags that were placed inside the container without the exporter’s knowledge, using the method known as rip on/rip off.
After weighing, the drug was transported by the Federal Revenue Service helicopter directly to the headquarters of the Federal Police in Curitiba. This is the 12th cocaine seizure carried out by the tax authorities this year in the Port of Paranaguá. In total, 1,062 kg of the drug has already been seized at the port terminal.
