A man died crushed by equipment in the port area of Paranaguá, on the coast of Paraná, on the evening of Sunday (4). The incident happened around 11:20 pm, but the body was removed only early on Monday (5), at 1:30 am, due to difficulty reaching the corpse.
According to the Fire Department, the man climbed onto the conveyor belts at the Port of Paranaguá, slipped, and was then crushed. He couldn’t resist the injuries. Due to the height, the fire team’s ladder could not reach the victim, and the aid of a lift platform was necessary to remove the body from the site.
The body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML).
In a note, the port authority Portos do Paraná claimed to be closely watching the investigations and that the equipment is a grain carrier (dala) that serves the Export Corridor of the Port of Paranaguá. It is located close to Avenida Portuária, outside the customs area, in a region secured by measures to contain these clandestine invasions. “The public company stressed that it provided the first assistance it collaborates to clarify the facts.”
