Coffee/Secex: total exports in July fall 5% compared to July/22, to 2.475 million bags

Total coffee exports from Brazil (green and soluble) in the month of July 2023 reached 2.475 million bags of 60 kg, which corresponds to a drop of 5.1% compared to the same month of 2022 (2.608 million bags) . In terms of foreign exchange income, there was a decrease of 11.8% between the two periods, from US$ 659.468 million to US$ 581.562 million. The data were disclosed a little while ago by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC).
The chart below shows Brazilian coffee exports (HS code 0901) between Jan 2019 and May 2023 measured in tonnes, according to the DataLiner data service.

In the accumulated result for the seven months of this year, the volume shipped dropped by 15.3%, totaling 18.212 million bags, compared to 21.490 million bags in the same period last year. Foreign exchange revenue fell by 24.2% between the two periods, from US$ 5.563 billion in 2022 to US$ 4.216 billion this year.
