Sugar exports from Brazil over 3.2 million t in September, up 6% year-on-year

In September (20 business days), Brazil exported 3.205 million tons of sugar and molasses, accumulating revenue of more than $1.599 billion, according to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex). In the last few days alone, more than 719,000 tons of these products were shipped.
Throughout the previous month, Brazil exported 3.818 million tons of products related to the sugarcane and energy sector, driven by the progress of the 2023/24 harvest. In September 2022 (21 business days), sugar and molasses exports from Brazil totaled 3.017 million tons, generating a revenue of $1.237 billion from these products.

When analyzed by daily average tons, sugar and molasses exports reached 160,292 tons per day, an increase of approximately 11.5% compared to the same period in 2022 (143,706 tons per day). Additionally, the prices of these product shipments during the period were more than 21% higher, at $498.80 per ton.
