The Port of Imbituba recently hosted the 1st Environmental Port Managers Summit, drawing participants to a series of visits to various port terminals, including São Francisco do Sul, Itapoá, Navegantes, and Itajaí, culminating at Imbituba. The event commenced with an institutional presentation by Urbano Lopes de Sousa Netto, CEO of the Port of Imbituba.
During the meeting, environmental analyst Camila Menes from the Port of Imbituba detailed the port authority’s environmental programs and addressed questions from attendees.
“We had the opportunity to share good environmental practices with other ports in Santa Catarina and across Brazil, always focusing on enhancing port activity and environmental preservation,” said CEO Sousa Netto.
“For us at the Port of Imbituba, this exchange of information with other Brazilian ports is crucial. Understanding the dynamics and challenges of each port significantly enhances our structures, methodologies, and programs. It is also gratifying to receive feedback from fellow environmental managers, recognizing our port as a reference due to the excellence of our programs,” highlighted Paulo Márcio de Souza, head of the health, safety, and environment department at the Port of Imbituba.
