Three representatives from the Governador Eraldo Gueiros Industrial Port Complex, also known as the Port of Suape, located in Ipojuca, Pernambuco, visited the Port of Santos between August 29 and 30. The team came to learn about the Port of Santos’ Mutual Aid Plan (PAM), coordinated by the Santos Port Authority (APS).

The visiting delegation included Suape’s Security and Emergency Coordinator, Janaína Silva de Barros, Industrial Territory Manager, Rafaela Albuquerque de Miranda, and Territorial Information Coordinator, João Alexandre de Sousa Neto.

According to the president of the Port of Suape, Márcio Guiot Braga Martins Pereira, the Port of Santos was chosen for the visit because it serves as “a model that aligns with Suape’s aspirations, offering a unique opportunity for exchanging experiences.”

At APS, the group was welcomed by André Bonini, Superintendent of the President’s Office, representing the board. PAM Coordinator Evandro Lourenço, an occupational safety technician at APS, accompanied the visit. Other members of the reception team included APS Health and Occupational Safety Manager Ernesto Henriques, PAM Santos Administrative Coordinator Natália Simonetti, and Port Guard Emergency Brigade and Operational Communication Coordinator Rogers de Oliveira Germano.

The technical visit featured presentations at APS showcasing the activities and initiatives carried out by PAM at the Port of Santos, including training sessions, drills, meetings, and the system for coordinating with terminals during emergencies.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the Port of Santos, embarking on a trip through the estuary, accompanied by APS Business Development and Regulation Director Marcos Sabino and Jorge Valias de Souza from the Superintendency of Educational and Cultural Relations.
