Brazil Launches Dumping Investigation into Pre-Painted Steel Exports from China and India

The federal government initiated an investigation on Thursday (19) regarding dumping practices in the exports of pre-painted steel from China and India “and the damage to the domestic industry resulting from such practices.”
The decision was published in a circular from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (Mdic) in the Official Federal Gazette (DOU).
In the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM), the products correspond to the numbers 7210.70.10, 7210.70.20, 7212.40.10, 7212.40.21, and 7212.40.2.
“The analysis of dumping evidence considered the period from April 2023 to March 2024,” states the ministry. “The damage analysis period considered the timeframe from April 2019 to March 2024.”
