Log-In started, on 07/06, the route of the new container carrier “Log-In Polaris” towards Brazil. The ship was delivered to the company on July 1 by the Chinese shipyard CSSC Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard and is expected to arrive at the Port of Manaus by the end of August. With a capacity of 2,700 TEUs, “Log-In Polaris” will join the fleet of the company, which currently has four of their own container carriers and two chartered containers.
The “Log-In Polaris” is a modern and sustainable ship. It has the capacity to transport 600 refrigerated containers, which will increase the capacity of the company for this type of cargo. Among the vessels in operation in the Brazilian market, the average is 250 refrigerated containers.
The new boat has lubricated propeller shaft bearings, is cooled by water instead of oil, saves fuel consumption through reduced friction of the hull paint, and has its main engine power appropriate to Log-In’s speed of operation.
The ship is the first in the country to have an extended docking system from five years to 7.5 years approved by the classifier and Brazilian authorities. This will allow for shorter downtime for maintenance, with lower operating costs, and greater availability. The vessel also has lashing platforms, which allow a better cargo arrangement.
The total investment in shipbuilding amounts to about $28.5m
