Dec, 12, 2024 Posted by Sylvia SchandertWeek 202447
Brazilian beef exports grew by 9% in November compared to the same month last year. Despite the increase, this percentage represents a slowdown from the higher growth rates seen in previous months, when sales were rising by over 30%, with shipments of around 300,000 tonnes per month.
The information, which takes into account both fresh and processed meat, comes from major beef industry group Abrafrigo, which compiled data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services of Brazil.
According to Abrafrigo, Brazil exported 279.2 thousand tonnes of beef last month. Meanwhile, the revenue from these sales increased more than the volume, rising by 25% to USD 1.2 billion in the same month this year.
Year to date through November, exports reached 2.9 million tonnes, a 30.84% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Revenue totaled USD 12 billion, with a 23.25% increase in the same comparison.
Below is a historical overview of Brazilian containerized beef exports between January 2021 and 2024. The data comes from DataLiner, a product of Datamar’s market intelligence.
