Argentina’s agro-industrial exports totaled 86.48 million tonnes in the first ten months of 2024, marking a 51% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to Clarín, citing data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries.

The Clarín report also highlighted that export revenue from Argentina’s agricultural sector reached USD 39.81 billion between January and October 2024, up 23% from the same period last year.

Despite declining international prices for several primary goods throughout the year, the ministry attributed the positive results to “improvements in climatic conditions and measures introduced by the national government to simplify processes, reduce bureaucracy, and facilitate trade, as well as the opening of 70 new markets.”

According to Clarín, of the 54 agro-industrial sectors analyzed, 16 achieved their highest export values in five years, while 28 recorded revenue increases exceeding 10% compared to 2023.

The sugar, cotton, alcoholic beverages, and wheat sectors saw the most significant year-on-year growth, with value increases of 512%, 221%, 139%, and 135%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Clarín noted that ten agro-industrial sectors accounted for 86.4% of Argentina’s total export revenue between January and October 2024. These include soybeans, corn, livestock, wheat, fishing and aquaculture, sunflower, barley, dairy, peanuts, and wine production.
