The Porto Murtinho Port Terminal, located on the banks of the Paraguay River, was sold for R$30.5 million in an auction held on Monday (27). The final bid represents an 83% increase over the starting price of R$16.6 million, demonstrating significant interest in the facility. The winning company, headquartered in Mato Grosso do Sul, will be announced after the completion of legal procedures.

The port, which covers 47,000 square meters, includes logistical infrastructure such as commercial warehouses, a truck scale, compressors, and an administrative center. The terminal had been inactive since 2022 when the previous concession contract was terminated. Its reactivation is expected to boost the local and regional economy while strengthening the state’s infrastructure.

The port’s reopening is seen as a driver of economic recovery for the region. Frederico Fellini, the state secretary of administration, highlighted that the auction’s final price reflects the state’s credibility and investors’ growing interest in Mato Grosso do Sul.
