11th Edition of CIDESPORT to Begin on November 20th in Florianópolis

From November 20th to 22nd, the 11th International Congress on Port Development – CIDESPORT will occur in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. The event is organized by the University of Southern Santa Catarina (UNISUL) through its Graduate Program in Administration (PPGA), in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) through its Graduate Programs in Accounting (PPGC) and Production Engineering (PPGEP), and with the University of Valencia, Spain, through the Department of Accounting. The financial management of the congress is handled by the FAPEU Foundation for Support to Research and University Extension, which is linked to UFSC.
Over 300 port directors, terminal operators, government representatives, port industry professionals, and professors and students from Brazil and abroad are expected to attend lectures and paper presentations.
On November 20th, Andrew Lorimer, CEO of Datamar, will speak at the panel “Ports and Terminals of Brazil: Statistical Insights and Market Trends,” moderated by Marja Weschenfelder, Master in Maritime Economics and Logistics, and Consultant in Finance, Strategy, and Innovation (Port Sector).
The event will also feature more than 30 scientific papers and technical reports involving researchers from Brazil and abroad.
Additionally, the third edition of the CIDESPORT Award will be presented during the event in the following categories: Performance Evaluation of ESG Practices in Ports/Terminals, Best Scientific Paper, and Best Technical Report.
It is important to note that CIDESPORT is a technical-scientific event with the main objectives of:
- Promoting and stimulating discussions on port sector performance from the scientific community’s perspective and professionals involved in port management.
- Disseminating and exploring best management practices in the port sector that contribute to improving port performance, drawing from the experiences of various countries.
- Promoting greater integration between the scientific community and port managers, encouraging the development of applied research that adds value to port management and performance.
