On the morning of November 9th, the bottom of a container gave way while it was being lifted onto a ship, and a granite block weighing about 30 tons fell in the Porto do Mucuripe, in Fortaleza. Miraculously, no one was injured.
According to Labor tax auditors, the loading of the granite blocks destined for the United States and Europe was halted.
The mining company responsible for loading the stones is from Santa Quitéria, in the interior of Ceará. According to tax auditors working in the port region, each stone was transported in a container. The equipment is placed on the ship with the help of a crane.
