A record-breaking grain harvest is expected for 2021/2022
Dec, 28, 2021 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202150
The 2021/2022 grain harvest could yield 291 million tons of produce, thanks to the industry’s enthusiasm towards current prices and the good performance of Brazilian agriculture this year.
The assessment above was publicly announced by the minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina. “There are several aspects leading to increased rural production. Now, we expect and foresee a record-breaking harvest, not only in terms of increased crop areas but also with an increase in production and productivity. That’s a good estimate,” she said.
According to the minister, the actual numbers may fluctuate a little depending on how much it will rain in the country. “As for right now, we have good prospects. We have been seen exceptionally dry weather in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Paraná, and in my state, Mato Grosso do Sul. In the rest of the country, rainfall rates are closer to normal”.
