ABPA (the Brazilian association of animal protein) and APEX-Brasil (the Brazilian export and investment promotion agency) are launching Brazilian Duck, an international brand in the duck-meat export sector produced in Brazil.
The new international brand under ABPA’s management will seek to increase exports in the segment, which has increased its presence in animal protein exports in recent years.
See the chart below for a history of Brazilian duck exports since January 2019. Data are from DataLiner:

“There is a great opportunity to expand the export basket with the duck sector, a high value-added poultry niche. Using the strength already established by the sectorial strategy built by ABPA and Apex-Brasil, we will reinforce the good reputation of the Brazilian product, which now gains a sectorial brand aligned with the values already delivered by the segment in the domestic and international market”, evaluates Ricardo Santin, president of the ABPA.
Data collected by ABPA show that Brazil exported 4000 tons of duck meat in 2020, a volume that surpassed the sales registered by the sector in the previous year by 26.55%.
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Peru, Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, and Hong Kong are among the main export destinations in the sector, which generated US$ 10.5 million in foreign exchange for the country last year.
