The Brazilian government welcomed the Egyptian government’s announcement regarding the acceptance of the new sanitary certificate model for beef, which included authorization for Brazil to export buffalo meat and offal as well.
This opening further strengthens commercial relations with Egypt, the ninth-largest destination for Brazilian agricultural exports in 2024. In the first ten months of this year, Egypt imported more than US$2.59 billion in agricultural products from Brazil.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 208 market openings in 2024, totaling 286 new business opportunities in 62 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These results are the outcome of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
