Logistics solutions, energy services, and infrastructure company Aliseo will invest 500 million reais in a base to support the use of flexible equipment in the movement of oil and gas at the Port of Açu, based in the north of Rio de Janeiro, said the state government on Oct 20.
The facility, which will initially cover 160,000 square meters, is scheduled to open in May of next year and will assist in loading, unloading, handling, controlling, transporting, and storing coils and underwater ducts used by Petrobras in the exploration of pre-salt fields.
“This set of investments comprises engineering and logistics services that are fundamental to support Petrobras’ underwater operations, which will reinforce the role of the Port of Açu and Rio de Janeiro as a national logistics hub,” highlighted the secretary of Economic Development, Energy and International Relations of Rio de Janeiro, Cassio Coelho.
Aliseo was formed out of the 3T Flexíveis Consortium, formed in 2021 by Transdata, a company specializing in engineering and cargo handling, and by Splenda Offshore, a logistics company that holds the concession for the Angra dos Reis Port Terminal (TPAR).
