Anda says that fertilizer deliveries increased by 13.9% before October

Fertilizer industries delivered 38.3 million tons of products in the months prior to October, a volume 13.9% higher compared to the same period in 2020. In October alone, deliveries totaled 4.7 million tons or 12.8% more than last October. These are the latest numbers provided by the Brazilian National Association for Fertilizer Dissemination (Anda, in Portuguese).
Imports grew 16.8% in the year to date, totaling 31.4 million tons. In October, external purchases dropped 14.2% compared to October 2020 and totaled 3.2 million tonnes.
The national production increased 19.4% in October to 572.2 thousand tons. As for the first ten months of 2021, production grew 3.4% to 5.5 million tons.
Brazil imports almost 85% of the fertilizer it consumes. However, it still exported 564.7 thousand tons between January and October of last year, an increase of 16.5% compared to 2020, informs Anda.
