Anec: Brazil to double exports in 2022 to 42.6 million t

Corn exports from Brazil should catch up to 42.596 million tonnes in 2022, a growth of more than 100% compared to the volume of 20.6 million tonnes exported in the previous year, pointed out on December 07, the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec).
Based on the line-up of export vessels and shipments already made, Anec projected that the country’s corn exports should reach 5.43 million tonnes in December, an increase of more than 2 million tonnes compared to the same month last year.
In addition to a record harvest allowing for increased shipments in 2022, Anec noted that corn exports are benefiting from the Chinese government’s recent decision to import Brazilian cereal, which has already led to shipments to the Asian country, as well as increased demand from markets previously served primarily by Ukraine, such as the European Union.
