Angra port to reactivate offshore base

The Angra dos Reis Port Terminal (TPAR), managed by the Splenda Port group, and Maersk Supply Service announced a project that marks the reactivation of the Angra Port complex as one of the main offshore support bases in the country.
Initially, the terminal will support all the pre-installation activity of the mooring system for the FPSO Sepetiba, which will be installed in module 2 of production in the Mero field, in the Santos Basin. With a total area of 87,000 m², the Angra Port Terminal is strategically located in sheltered waters about 200 km from the Santos Basin.
– We are investing in operational and structural improvements to expand our ability to operate with larger ships. Our goal is to transform it into the main offshore support base in Brazil – said Paulo Narcélio, CEO of TPAR and partner of Splenda Port.
The terminal has 400 meters of pier extension, availability of a berth for berthing, and a retro area, in addition to being close to the main Brazilian pre-salt production fields.
To receive new projects, Splenda acquired a fluids plant and hopes to expand the terminal’s draft from 8.5 to 10 meters this year. The company also foresees investments in the expansion of the storage area by over 50,000 m² and in other general improvements, such as dredging.
The pre-installation operations of the FPSO Sepetiba mooring system are expected to start in January 2022 – beginning with the installation of the pre-anchoring of torpedoes and lines – and last for seven months.
