ANTAQ Approves Bidding Documents for STS08 Terminal at Port of Santos

The National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ) has approved the preparatory bidding documents for the STS08 terminal at the Port of Santos. With this approval, the Santos Port Authority (APS) can move forward with the leasing process for the area. The terminal, designated for handling liquid bulk cargo, particularly fuel, is located in the Alemoa industrial zone, near Petrobras on the Right Bank.
At the end of 2023, an agreement was signed between ANTAQ and APS, delegating various responsibilities, including the authority to conduct bidding procedures for leasing port facilities to the port operator.
Following ANTAQ’s approval last Thursday of the Technical, Economic, and Environmental Feasibility Study (EVTEA), as well as the draft bidding notice and lease contract, APS is now set to open public hearings and consultations for the STS08 terminal tender.
The auction is expected to bring in R$ 400 million in investments, with a 25-year concession contract that can be extended for an equal period. The goal is to expand the liquid bulk cargo capacity at Alemoa.
