The National Waterborne Transport Agency (ANTAQ) convened Public Hearing No. 07/2024 on Wednesday (24), dedicated to gathering insights and recommendations for refining technical and legal documents related to the upcoming bidding process for the MCP01 terminal lease at the Port of Santana.
The terminal, designated for the movement and storage of solid vegetable bulk, particularly wood chips, is slated for an investment of R$84.6 million over the 25-year contract duration.
Eduardo Nery, ANTAQ’s general director and rapporteur of the terminal process, emphasized that the projected investment sets the stage for “a virtuous cycle, fostering a more modern, developed port with increased cargo throughput and, consequently, enhanced capacity.”
The public hearing saw participation from five stakeholders, who offered five oral contributions. The deadline for submitting contributions is May 8, 2024.
Regarding the Public Consultation
The legal drafts and technical documents subject to this public consultation are accessible on the ANTAQ website.
ANTAQ will exclusively consider contributions, insights, and recommendations pertaining to the drafts under public scrutiny during the hearing. Contributions can be submitted until 11:59 pm on May 8, 2024, solely through the provided electronic form, with submissions via other means not accepted.
