ANTT designs an app to calculate road freight for truckers

The autonomous truckers have won a cellular application that allows one to calculate the value of the road freight in each trip, from the new parameters of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT).
Developed by state-owned Serpro, at the request of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the latest version of the app was presented to truckers, carriers, and the productive sector representatives who met with government officials last week at the “Permanent Forum for Road Freight Transport.”
The mobile app allows truckers to know the minimum amount (floor) they can charge on each trip by providing information on toll value, stops, and overnight forecast, among others.
The technology will be available free of charge in the virtual stores and should be released after the publication of the new freight table, which is scheduled for Friday (07/19).
New formula for calculating the freight table
On Tuesday (July 16), ANTT (National Land Transport Agency) approved the new form of calculations of the road freight table. The new resolution validated the report with the analysis of the contributions presented at the public hearing about the technical study prepared by researchers in logistics at Esalq/USP.
The agency accepted requests for timely adjustments in the methodology for calculating minimum values (the floor) of freight. The new table will be published next week.
The definition of the minimum freight value, approved on July 16, predicts new vehicle compositions per axle for containerized, dangerous, and neogranel cargo. It also includes the costs that had been disregarded or were inaccurate, such as those related to the speed of movement of the vehicle loaded, the time of loading and unloading, the working hours of the drivers, and maintenance expenses (diesel and tires), IPVA, and the licensing of the truck.
In addition, the creation of a second table with the minimum value of freight for hiring only the truck (the motor vehicle), without the parts used for the transport of cargo (truck or semi-trailer) was permitted.
