The President of the Santos Port Authority (APS), Anderson Pomini, along with directors Gustavo Salvador Pereira (Business Development and Regulation), Beto Mendes (Operations), and Júlio Cézar Alves de Oliveira (Administration and Finance), met last Friday (January 17) with around 80 representatives of the Itajaí port community. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Itajaí Port Authority, aimed to present management plans for the port complex’s public infrastructure.
Representatives of port operators, sector workers, regulatory authorities, members of the municipal administrations of Itajaí and Navegantes, and civil society organizations attended the event.
Action Plan for the Port of Itajaí
During the presentation, Anderson Pomini highlighted the APS leadership’s initiatives for the Port of Itajaí, which has been under the administration of the Santos Port Authority since January 2, 2025. “We are developing an action plan focused on qualification, organization, and administrative restructuring of the Port of Itajaí,” Pomini stated.
He also emphasized the potential for joint actions between the ports of Itajaí and Santos. One example cited was the implementation of a vessel traffic management system, already underway at the Port of Santos:
“We are deploying a system in Santos that integrates the best technologies used in ports worldwide, providing greater speed and efficiency in ship entry and exit operations. This same service is being studied for implementation at the Port of Itajaí,” Pomini explained.
Container operations have resumed in the Itajaí Port only in the second half of 2024. Check out the container export operations at the Port of Itajaí from January to November, starting in 2021.
