Argentina announces resumption of beef exports

After a meeting with representatives of the main representative chambers of the beef industry, the government of Argentina announced the total opening of beef exports and the increase in the slaughter weight within the scope of the presentation of the Livestock Plan 2022/2023.
The Minister of Agriculture, Julián Domínguez, explained that the initiative includes a new export regime for the sale of all cows in categories D, E, and F. The total opening for cows is intended for emerging markets, a specific request from the entities, which highlighted compliance with the Hilton Quotas, 481, Israel, United States, Chile, and Colombia.
Likewise, the impulse to increase the slaughter weight of cattle and the percentage of weaning was implemented, with credits at subsidized rates to producers; encouraging investment in genetics and animal health; and the creation, at an institutional level, of an Advisory Board, which will monitor the measures taken.
Meanwhile, restrictions on the seven cuts of meat for consumption in the domestic market will continue until 2023, which include torrefação, capa assada, vácuo, abate, saia, ombro, nádega, and/or quadrada. Along these lines, the Argentine government has already anticipated an agreement with meat exporters to allocate an additional supply of 20,000 tons meat in December.
