Argentina’s national service for health and agrifood quality (SENASA) has certified a total of 11,000 tons of fresh citrus fruits (lemons, tangerines, and oranges), apples, pears, and sweet potatoes, which left the port of Campana for the Federation of Russia and the European Union (EU).
The shipment, exported in the second and third ships of the season, corresponds to 9,809 pallets (4,917 lemons, 3,855 tangerines, 109 oranges, 272 apples, and 512 pears) plus a batch with 144 pallets of sweet potatoes.
Guillermo Ruffo, Plant Protection Coordinator, Regional Center of Buenos Aires Norte, highlighted the importance of exporting citrus fruits to Europe, noting that “these phytosanitary inspection and certification activities clearly show how the joint work between the public and the private sector is decisive for the country. Furthermore, the act of certifying fresh citrus fruit to the European Union is in line with all the actions and negotiations that have been carried out in recent months by the government with the support of the citrus sector.”
