According to Argentina’s Agroindustry Ministry weekly report, the Foreign Sales Declarations (DJVE) issued until June 21 revealed the country shipped 12.445 million tonnes of corn this season. This falls short of the break-even volume for this crop, which the National Government set at 20 million tonnes.
The progress of corn sales in Argentina during the 2022/23 crop stands at 14.274 million tonnes. Out of this figure, 13.383 million tonnes are allocated for the export sector, while 891 thousand tonnes are for industrial purchases.
Furthermore, the Foreign Sales Declarations (DJVE) until June 21 indicate 50 thousand tonnes of corn.
Meanwhile, there has been an increase in sales for the 2023/24 crop in Argentina, reaching 464.2 thousand tonnes. Out of this, 436.5 thousand tonnes are designated for the export sector, and 27.7 thousand tonnes are for industrial purchases.
Resolution 276/2021 stipulates applying an export control system with balanced levels for wheat and corn, which the government considers as “cultural goods” alongside beef.
