Argentina may raise corn export limit to 35 million tonnes

Argentina, the world’s second-largest corn exporter, may raise its export limit to 35 million tonnes in the 21/22 harvest, up from 30 million tonnes, according to the information given by a Ministry of Agriculture source to Reuters on May 19th.
According to government data, the country’s 2021/22 corn harvest, including grains not expected to be traded, is estimated at 57 million tonnes. The harvest is 44% complete.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange projects the output of corn for commercial use at 49 million tonnes.
Data from the Ministry of Agriculture shows that exporters have made corn sales declarations worth 27 million tonnes so far in the 2021/22 season.
