Oct, 04, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202240
Exports of grains and derivatives from Argentina generated a revenue of US$8.12 billion in September 2022.
The amount, the highest recorded for September in the last 20 years, represents an increase of 140% compared to August and 198% compared to September 2021.
The good performance was mainly driven by the special exchange rate of 200 pesos to the dollar adopted by the government to encourage the sale of soybeans.
The data were released by the Argentine Edible Oil Association (Ciara) and by the Cereal Exporters Center (CEC), industry groups that represent 48% of Argentine exporters.
Year-to-date, revenue is US$ 33.817 billion.
The main product exported by the sector last year was soybean meal, corresponding to 14.2% of the total sold abroad by the country.
After soymeal, the list of most exported products reads corn (11% of the total) and soybean oil (6.9%).
