Asia Shipping achieved a growth of approximately 25% in the export of Full Container Load (FCL) containers – a full container with loads from only one exporter – in the first four months of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.
“In just the first quarter of 2021, we grew around 15% in FCL exports compared to 2020, a difficult year due to the pandemic”, comments Filipe Pacheco, Asia Shipping’s Export Director.
See the chart below for a history of Brazilian FCL container exports by Asia Shipping. Data are from DataLiner:

In 2020, the multinational handled around 33,000 TEU. The busiest export cargoes include forest products, aluminum, plastic, paper, and chemicals. In this first quarter, Asia Shipping also transported ceramics, stones, car parts, cotton, coffee, corn, and even inputs for animal feed, such as fish meal, bones, blood, and feathers.
In addition to Full Container Load (FCL), Asia Shipping also works with Less Container Load (LCL), in which multiple exporters can share a container. Currently, the service is available for three routes: Hong Kong (China), Chile, and Ecuador, as the main destinations.
In terms of the LCL export service alone, the multinational grew by around 31% in this second quarter, with 70% of regular customers.
