The strong Chinese demand – which was partly due to new outbreaks of swine fever in the country – drove commercialization in the pork segment. Leg, loin, shoulder, belly, rib, and other small cuts were the most exported. Hong Kong, Chile, the United States, and Japan complete the list of the five largest importers. The chicken chain — thighs, drumsticks, breasts, wings, and other cuts — mainly went to China, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, Russia, and South Korea.
According to the company, if Aurora maintains the average monthly volumes billed so far, the expectation is to end 2021 with a 15% growth in poultry: 24% of this growth coming from the foreign market and another 3.3% from the domestic market. In pork, the forecast is to end 2021 with 20% growth: 40% of this growth coming from the foreign market and 6% from the domestic market.
