BACTSSA Terminal in Buenos Aires nears the end of its concession

The BACTSSA container terminal in Buenos Aires, operated by Hutchison Ports, is a little less than three weeks away from the end of its concession. On May 15, the terminal officially stops operating, but notices of changes in services by shipping companies are already being issued.
Last week, the owner CMA-CGM announced it was moving its SEAS service to Terminales Rio de la Plata (TRP). The last vessel of this service to operate at BACTSSA was the Switzerland, which arrived on April 17th.
In the meantime, this Sunday, the police and the city hall removed a group of workers that has been blocking operations for two weeks at the other container terminals at the port: TRP (which operates terminals 1, 2, and 3) and APM Terminal 4.
BACTSSA is reluctant to deliver Terminal 5 on May 15, when its concession expires. The terminal operated by BACTSSA was the only one that workers did not block.
The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Labor of Argentina, together with the unions FEMPINRA (Federation that gathers all port unions) and SUPA, started the process for the 260 employees of Terminal 5 to start working at the other terminals.
