Beef: China to suspend imports from JBS unit in Mozarlândia (GO)
Mar, 23, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202212
The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) announced the suspension of beef imports from the JBS unit in Mozarlândia (GO) in a post published on its official website on Wednesday, March 23.
The Chinese informed that the purchase halt will go into effect on Thursday, 24th, without specifying when businesses will resume – or the reason for the decision.
On March 12, GACC had suspended beef imports from the same JBS unit in Mozarlândia for a week without explaining its reasoning.
The Asian country has been suspending purchases, since 2020, from meat-packers in several different countries, claiming increased sanitary control due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
