Beef: Chinese demand to stay heated in the 2nd half of the year

According to studies conducted by the Center for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics (Cepea), beef sales to foreign markets increased to a record volume in the first half of the year, thanks to the Chinese demand and sales to the United States.
According to Cepea researchers, considering the export trends seen in recent years, in which shipments of Brazilian protein to both Asian and North American countries intensified in the second half of the year, national shipments may remain heated in the coming months and sustain the annual record.
See below the track record of Brazilian beef shipments, measured in tonnes, from January 2020 to May 2022. The data below is from the DataLiner platform.

To further favor these shipments, the dollar is quoted high, weakening domestic sales and prompting meatpackers to focus on exports.
