Beef exports continued to accelerate in April and concluded the 1st quarter of the year, with the United States surpassing 244% of what they acquired in the same months of 2021, reaching almost 1/4 of what China bought.
With last month’s total shipments of 186.6 thousand tonnes (+22% from 2021), and US$ 1.1 billion in revenue (+56%), the aggregate of 2022 followed suit with revenue well above volumes.
According to Abrafrigo, which traditionally discloses data based on official Secex figures, the increase in revenue was 59%, while the volume of beef exported grew only 30%.
Respectively, R$ 4.007 billion and 732.2 thousand/t.
During this period, the Chinese, always the leaders, took 344,400/t and the US, 79,100/t, steadily moving away from Egypt, the third-largest importer.
See below the track record of Brazilian exports of beef to China and Hong Kong from January 2021 to March 2022. These data are from Datamar’s DataLiner.
