Rising Prices and Decreased Revenue

The average price of beef exports in the first week of December was US$ 4,935 per ton, an 8.5% year-on-year increase compared to US$ 4,547 per ton recorded in December of the previous year.

Despite the price rise, the total revenue obtained in the first week was US$ 212.393 million, lower than the US$ 947.877 million collected throughout December 2023.

The daily average revenue was US$ 42.478 million, a decrease of 10.4% compared to the daily average of US$ 47.393 million recorded during the same period in the previous year.

Challenges in the Sector

The data reflects a tough scenario for beef exports, with a decrease in daily shipment volumes but an increase in the product’s value in international markets. These numbers will be critical in assessing the performance of Brazilian exports at the close of 2024.
