The volume of beef exported in July from Argentina was equivalent to 55.6 thousand tonnes (79.5 thousand tonnes of bone-in beef), 5.4% down from June and up 50% year-on-year, according to the commercial chamber CICCRA. From January to July 2022, 357.4 thousand tonnes of beef were exported, which is 6.6% more than in the first seven months of 2021 (+22.3 thousand tonnes).

“For three months, the price of beef in the domestic market has not changed significantly, to the point price change in July was zero,” says the CICCRA, adding that the reason for the price stability is the drought that forced producers to put half-raised animals in the corral, whose supply was constant in a market with very repressed demand. In addition, the decrease in consumer purchasing power indicates that demand is extremely low.
The revenue earned in July was USD 321.5 million. Volumes and unit prices increased 61.9% YoY. As a result, the declared average price increased from US$5,398 per tonne in July last year to US$5,784 per tonne in July 2022 (+5.0%). With information from CMA Latam Agency.
