Minister Fávaro emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening economic ties between Brazil and Global South countries, as well as the role of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) in developing agricultural technologies. “We are open to formalizing a cooperation agreement between Brazil and Malaysia so that Embrapa can assist in developing more efficient technologies and production systems,” he said.

During the meeting, the Malaysian Agriculture Minister proposed a cooperation agreement between Embrapa and the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Mardi) to enhance competitiveness in corn production.
