Last Tuesday (3/21), representatives of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (MDIC) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) met with representatives of the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development OffICE (FCDO) to celebrate the completion of the Brazil-United Kingdom Trade Facilitation Programme, in particular the initiatives aimed at promoting the internationalization of Brazilian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Entitled BRAEXP, the main product of this cooperation is a digital platform for foreign trade services that will connect micro, small, and medium-sized Brazilian companies to providers of export-oriented services – such as business training, market intelligence, financing, credit insurance, and logistics.
The program also supported the digitalization and automation of the Brazilian government service, allowing companies to self-assess the maturity of exports through the platform.
Technology transfer – During the meeting on the 21st, which took place at the United Kingdom Embassy, the Brazilian and British governments signed three additional protocols: one between MDIC and FCDO that formalized the transfer of technology from the service of self-assessment of export maturity from the National Export Culture Plan (PNCE), entirely digitized and automated, to be integrated into BRAEXP; one between ApexBrasil and FCDO that formalized the transfer of technology, trademark registration, and intellectual property associated with BRAEXP; and, finally, one between ApexBrasil and FCDO that aimed to stimulated the sharing of gender and inclusion material.
