Brazil authorized to export fresh eggs to Argentina and Chile

On April 8, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Food Supply published the CSIs (international health certificates) for fresh eggs exported to Argentina and Chile.
For exports to Argentina, the certificates are available for all Brazilian states. For exports to Chile, the certificates are available for all producers located in Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo.
ABPA (The Brazilian animal protein association) celebrated the double authorization. According to the organization, Brazilian egg exports did well in the first quarter. In the first two months, the sector grew by more than 150%, an index that should be maintained with the results of March, according to preliminary data calculated by ABPA. With the opening of Argentina and Chile – geographically closer than the current main destination in the sector, the United Arab Emirates – there are high expectations for even greater sales in the sector.
“The proximity of the markets are facilitators for the sector’s sales. Brazil has consolidated itself as a major producer and now seeks new frontiers for Brazilian eggs. With these two new markets that opened up yesterday, there are high expectations for business expansion”, says Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA.
