In April, Brazil exported 252,643 tonnes of beef, marking an 80% increase compared to the same month in 2023, when exports totaled 140,475 tonnes. This data, reported by the Brazilian Association of Refrigerators (Abrafrigo) and based on figures from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), represents the third-highest monthly beef export volume in Brazil’s history. The record remains December 2023, with 282,514 tonnes, followed by November 2023 with 256,000 tonnes.

The average price per ton in April 2024 was $4,185, slightly down from $4,444 in April 2023. Despite the lower price, the significant volume increase boosted revenue from beef exports to $1.057 billion last month, a 69% rise from April 2023.

Abrafrigo noted that total revenue for the first four months of 2024 reached $3.768 billion, up 31% from $2.879 billion in the same period of 2023. The volume of beef sold rose to 924,821 tonnes from 639,293 tonnes, reflecting a 45% increase.
